An AppImage for linux version?

Beloved Epic Games.

Several forum posts (mine’s included) have asked for the Epic Games launcher to be released for linux.

For us, many linux users, which is a real pain is to have to waste an entire day downloading and compiling the source code, and we want the launcher to make the installation of the editor as easy as possible.
You dont know how it breaks the workflow to have to download and compile the code, wasting an entire day, for every major version, for a subversion, or for even to install a simple hotfix. Or even, if it the editor broke and is needed to be reinstalled again.

Since all the launcher petitions have been unsuccessful, I wonder if, for the good of the ease of use, an appimage of the editor could not be a silliness to ask for.

I dont know how difficult is to produce an appimage, but it seems not to be a very difficult or a toilsome task to do.

May your grace have this query in consideration.

Still downloads and compile. Compiling lasts a lot.
Problem remains the same.

This is actually a pretty underrated post
AppImages have solved cross-distro compatibility issue ages ago; there’s absolutely no reason not to have one by now, it literally takes minutes to set one up

Takes a little longer to actually package them depending on the size of the contents, but it would save literally everyone else time if it was just packaged that way to begin with; not to mention, if we’re paying royalties to Epic (i.e. you) for complete games we put out that sell, we should at least be getting basic editor support that doesn’t waste tens of hours of our time when Unity has been pre-packaging their engine for years already and even gave us A LAUNCHER to go with and manage it.
