The current ammo cans available have several issues:
-
They are considered, along with the other items found in the “chests & ammo” gallery, to all be “chests” under the device tracker when set as “chest tracker”. This means, any item granter attached to the “chest tracker” that sends a signal on completion will also send signals when food containers are opened, ammo cans, and normal chests. Since there is NO customizable chests were we can place random loot into, creators use item granters linked to chest trackers to provide random loot. The solution would be to give us updated chest item spanwers that loot can be dropped directly into, as well as updating the tracker so it can tell the difference between a chest, an ammo can, and a food comtainer. After all, the food container and ammo cans don’t share the same default treasure pool, so why can’t they be tracked separately?
-
Legacy heal items from ammo cans. An updated version of the ammo can would solve the issue of legacy heal items dropping from ammo cans. I don’t know anyone still using legacy healing items, and having them drop from ammo cans while using the modern versions in a map loot pool gets confusing quick in fast paced gameplay, having two totally different versions of the same items (small and big potions) that also share the exact same icon/graphics is way confusing. I am even considering removing ammo cans entirely from my maps at this point.
Conclusion:
Modify device tracker to separately track ammo cans, food containers, and chests.
New chest device that acts like item spawner/granter/fishing device were tou can drop custom loot into it
New ammo can device that grants current modern small and big potions, not legacy ones
