Am i able to use unreal on a Hp Pavilion or should i invest in a pc build?

if i should need to build a pc is there any recommendations on a build I would love to hear it.

It depends on what are the specs of you hp pavilion . Unreal engine can run in high end laptops . I think you should invest in a pc build for smoother and faster experience of ue4. Personally my desktop has and amd fx 6300 and 16gb ram and a normal hdd. The processor is just alright , but i would recommend a better one for sure , especially if you want to create a 3D game with high quality lighting and big environment . You are going to need an ssd because it is taking long at least for me to load my 20gb project and my maps. I have 16gb ram and I upgraded from 8gb just because of ue4, ram is very important for importing high quality models, building lighting , and packaging your game. Also if your project is complicate. It is always depending on what the project you are going to create is about. But i would say 8GB ram an SSD and a processor like mine is the minimum requirements. Good luck.

I also think that you should buy another pc cause if you have a hp pavilion 15-cc1xx then unreal engine is not made for you, if you start your unreal engine then it works for like only 5 seconds and then freezes; and if you are thinking that this is because of storage then you are wrong because when I bought the laptop and started it the first thing in my mind was to download unreal engine. So if you really want to use unreal engine 4 then here are some laptops that support it-

  • Lenovo Legion Y720 Gaming Laptop

  • ASUS ZenBook Pro UX501VW

  • Gigabyte Aero 15X V8-BK4

  • Acer Predator Helios 300

These were just a few of them, there are many more but I personally recommend Lenovo Legion Y720 Gaming Laptop because it is very cheap and also epic.

So this is what I personally think.
