Am I able to make new animations on meshes purchased off marketplace? If so, how?

I recently purchased a low poly skeleton bundle but I can’t seem to figure out where to go to make new animations with some of the characters in the bundle, The ‘Grunt’ character does not have an attack animation and I am trying to get one for him but I do not know where to go to make a new one.

There are two ways:

-either export the skeletal mesh - open it in a 3d program - create the animation - import it again
-do it in the engine -> double click on the skeletal mesh in the content browser (persona) - click on the record button - move the bones - save it

I personally would recommend you the first way, because then you are more flexible

Thanks but I am having the issue of I select the skeletal mesh, I drag it into the world and export it as an FBX file and when I import it into maya, it doesn’t appear, any reason? I also tried going through the Epic Games tab way and that doesn’t work either

Are you sure it’s not there instead of simply being very small?

-do you get any errors when you try to export it?
-export it from the content browser
-what happens when you try to import it into another 3d program?

How would I export it from the EPIC Games launcher? It is a single mesh in a bundle. When I export it from the game engine I get no errors and I export it as an FBX file. When I imported it into Blender, I got the same results as importing it into Maya. It just didn’t appear at all. No errors, nothing.

No it’s not sadly, I zoomed way in while I was in Maya and in Blender. No luck

I’m having the same problem, its like you cant export from UE4.

I meant the content browser :o
Are you sure that you export the skeletal mesh (dont export the animations or the animation bo) + in blender it’s as small as the cube, so there the character should be in the cube

There are two ways how you can export something:

-either you drag and drop the mesh into the level - go to “file” - export selected
-or you do it from the content browser:
