Am I able to edit the material/color of an imported Sketchfab object?
Hello ,
You can adjust the materials for Sketchfab assets. Simply drag and drop the desired material onto the part of the model you want to adjust.
Since Sketchfab assets are by default collapsed into a single object in Twinmotion, you may have an easier time downloading the asset from the Sketchfab website and importing it manually into Twinmotion if you want to keep the object hierarchy or collapse objects by material to get a better idea of which parts of the model use which material.

I have actually downloaded a Sketchfab asset from the Sketchfab website but I am unable to change certain parts of the asset rather it changes the entire asset to the new selected material. Is there a way to change parts of the imported asset and not just get an entire asset that is one material?
It could be something particular to the way the asset you are trying to use is constructed. Sketchfab imports should always let you adjust materials individually.
For which asset is this occurring on? I can check to see if that asset might be behaving incorrectly.
