I removed green screen in after effects, and I exported it as AVI. I could play the alpha video (without background) in media player yesterday, but suddenly I can’t play the alpha video in the media player. Background is black, not transparent anymore. How can I play alpha video ?
Make sure to enable Post Processing alpha channel.
Do a search in project settings for alpha. Set to linear color space only. I used EXR format images.
black bg again means either the file lost its alpha on export or the player isnt compositing it. after after effects check you exported avi with alpha channel actually enabled (millions+ in codec settings), and try exr/png sequence to confirm its not codec. also media player preview wont show transparency without a translucent material. i ended up using alpha video player from fab Alpha Video Player - Transparent Video UMG Widget & UI Media Component (UE5) | Fab it just handles the alpha blend in a UMG widget so you dont fight the media texture material setup — supports the same prores/webm alpha sources too
