With the introduction of Star Wars and “space” if you create an island, that need vertical “freedom” if you forgot to change or consider to start the map with a good offset for it, you get killed when flying under the Z Kill value. And the “Fix” of moving everything up when there are thousand of assets in the level is really tedious and slow. Specially if you try a bulk operation, it can stall some machines.
Hi @Abrizzer - Really good request. I just noticed that the X-Wing and TIE fighter have a ‘Flight Ceiling Height’ variable that can be set to 0 to disable the ceiling. So that opens a lot of ‘upward potential’ You’d still need to avoid the -9000 Kill-Z though…
As far as moving everything upwards - You can do math in the details panel, so if you select some percentage of your objects, you can type {whatever the current height is} + 5000. (And then use the same height offset on other objects)
Hi @Astrotronic thanks for the reply. Yeah the math is an option that helps, but the problems you still have is that it doesn’t work when objects have multiple values in that field, so you would need to set them all to a parent, move and detach them at end or find the ones with same values. But all this options are really painful to do in the editor especially in big numbers, because its really slow, and it can get pretty messy keeping track of everything that has already been moved or needs to be moved.
With the option it would be just a number in the editor, and that’s it. From our side at least which would be really nice.
