Forgive me if am in the wrong area, but I need some help.
Lately, the majority of UE4 games hard crash my PC, soon as I start one of these games using Unreal Engine 4, the PC will instantly crash where I have to hold down the power button to restart.
Originally it started with Back 4 Blood, than Project Wingmen, Aliens Fireteam and Space Hulk: Deathwing
UE4 games like Foxhole and Life is Strange work fine and every other game out there also work fine, this issue only affects the majority of UE4 games.
The strange thing is, I once had a working around to play the the other games by starting Foxhole, play for a few minutes and than exit and start Back 4 Blood for example, this would allow me to play without issues, later this problem got worst and I read launching the Epic Games Launcher would sometimes work.
This is making no sense to me, how can UE4 games can hard crash my PC, while I can play games literally all day and week and have no issues.
I’m u sing a fresh installation of Windows 11 (I was using Win10 before with this problem) latest updates, latest AMD drivers (22.4.1)
Nothing is overclocked.
- AMD Ryzen 5 3600
- ASUS ROG STRIX B450-F GAMING II
- 32 GB RAM (4x8GB) Corsair Vengeance RGB RT 3600MHz
- XRX RX 480 GPU
- Seasonic Core Gold GC 650 650W 80+ Gold PSU
My motherboard parts are part of a motherboard bundle and under warranty and am ready to send them back to the retailer for them to test the system. I’m also on a edge of buying a new and expensive GPU to replace the RX 480 in case that’s the problem.
