All Quixel Bare and Gun Metal Normals are broken

Hello,

I have noticed issues with the Bare Metal and Gun Metal texture sets from Quixel Bridge. The normal maps are actually broken, pretty much all of them. You can already see it in Bridge when you look at the 3D shaded sphere. the little preview window is already glitching, same in big.

When downloading the textures it is the same problem. It should be a very subtle normal map. instead its just glitches. I tried PNG and EXR, its all the same. Here is a rendered image from Redshift. I split the normalmap colors and pulled contrast to visualize it. Most in the Green Channel also in the Red. Cant see anything in blue.

This appears when increasing the normal strenght. looks kinda cool, but not what I’m personally looking for.

If I had to guess I would think this is either a storage or a pipeline problem where at some point the normals got compressed and due to subtle nature of the normal map it got destroyed and is now plain with some pixels have slightly higher or lower values in the RG channels or whatever.

FYI: I dont use the materials as it comes from Bridge since this is broken for like at least 3 years. I set up all the formats correctly.

I saw one of these maps already defect the same way about a year ago, so this must be there for quite a while.

Can I get a response by Quixel Staff please? Quixel is not just giving out free stuff to unreal users, it is also selling them to people using other DCCs, like the studio I work for. So this should be fixed. Especially since this persists for quite a while now.
