All imported sounds defaults to Bink Audio. Can one change this?

I think it used to be “Platform Specific” that was the default compression format, and I liked that one. Now I have to manually change every sound I import from Bink to Platform Specific.

Is there a way to change this? So all sounds I import automatically is set to Platform Specific?

As far as i know, there is no way to set default import properties. That being said, i’m glad this has now been implemented as Bink seems to be the most versatile of the options and should be considered default

Yup, it’s in your Audio Project Settings.

That said, if you’ve already got a bunch of wavs that were imported as Bink that you want to switch, you can use the Property Matrix. . You don’t have to change them one by one.

Huh. Well, thanks for your answer. Though, I can’t find it. I’m looking in the same location under project settings but there’s nothing there. I’m running 5.0.3

That was my bad - I was looking at the Main branch, didn’t realize that was added after 5.0 :sweat_smile:. This is the relevant GitHub change, if you want to cherry-pick it, I don’t think its dependent on any other 5.1 changes. But otherwise, you can still use the Property Matrix to mass-edit the compression type if you want.
