as you can see on the screenshot above, all the values are gone i dont seems to edit anything on the detail pannel, how can i fix this?
Hello there @superhenriS!
That’s a quite bizarre, never seen the editor do that. If this was set due a change in the menu, I would try restoring the UI to default. To do that, from the top bar, click on “Window”, the scroll down to Load Layout > Default Editor Layout. This should undo any changes applied to all menues.
If the issue still remains, then the other option is to fully clear up UE’s config settings. Simply navigate to your project’s main directory to delete folder /Saved/Config , and to your system’s local app data to delete folder /UnrealEngine. After that, restart the editor, and all setttings should be restored.
hello
thanks for getting back to me, i tried this and it didnt worked out, all options are still missing
Hello again!
Ok, if nuking the stored config didn’t do the trick, I can think of two more things to test. First one is a bit of an angle, but bear with me.
Lately, there’s been a series of weird interactions between UE and Discord’s overlay, resulting in quite strange behaviours, including missing UI. So, if you are on Discord, check it’s settings, and disable their overlay. Then test UE again. After that, if the issue is still active, I think the remaining path is a full uninstall/reinstall of all Epic software from your setup:
- First, uninstall the engine, launcher, any asset packs, etc
- Next, open the registry directory HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Epic Games\Unreal Engine\Builds, and delete any build entries
- Finally, delete the folders %userprofile%\AppData\Local\UnrealEngine and %userprofile%\AppData\Local\UnrealHeaderTool
- After that, no elements related to UE should be left in your system
- Now, reinstall UE launcher from scratch, and only add the latest version of the engine
- After the process is complete, open a blank project, and test the UI
thank you, it worked!
