Align Camera on a previous mesh (non RC)

Hello community,

Is there a way to align a pictures  with a reference 3d model?

I wanna use a 3d scan as a reference to align and to adjust the scale of my alignement. This model is a mesh done with a 3D scanner and his position is very important (part of an assembly).

Is it possible to add point on the scan mesh, report them to the picture in order to get a new referential ? Or a way to define a new XYZ space?

Hi,

If you have at least 3 recognizable points on your model that you know the coordinates of, and you think you will be able to accurately pinpoint on the images. You can set these as GCPs, type in their coordinates,  then confirm these GCPs on your photos, and click update. You can see the approximate workflow here

Hi,

Well, I appreciate your help. It helps me to get the right orientation. I have created 3 points on my reference mesh, and export coordinates as text file. In order to import as ground control. The orientation is rightn but the position isn’t  well on Z.

I’ve added a ground control point on 0,0,0 called ZERO and create a distance betwin one of my reference  point and the ZERO. This constraint doesn’t work. 0,0,0 means nothing if it’s not pined on a picture.

I don’t understand why my 3 references points aren’t placed corretly. Where is the 0,0,0 coordinate?  Obviously the grid isn’t a real referencial.
