Alert when process is finished

An audible alert when a process is finished would be very useful. I have another computer take over the screen when my RC machine is chugging away and I have to keep switching the monitor over to check on it. It’d be great if it made a sound, or better, sent an email.

Or, release a linux version of RC and then I can monitor the process remotely! (Windows remote desktop is too hard here due to firewalls and stuff)

we have add this to the road map. There were more requests for this kind of features - e.g. sending e-mail etc.

For all other, If you are missing this feature, please contribute to this topic and we will increase the request priority based.

Also ability to execute some action at the end, like saving, exporting.

Okey, so we have it on the road map:

considered use-cases are:

  • sounds
  • sending email
  • calling web-service ( e.g. executing www.mypage.com/myservice?processdone=[align | meshing | coloring | texturing …]" )
  • executing external app with param (e.g. c:\myservices\myapp.exe processdone=[align | meshing | coloring | texturing …])

RC can now play a sound or execute an external program after processing finishes -> Version 1.0.2.1976 RC release
