Like a lot of people, we’re eagerly awaiting Alembic support for Unreal Engine. Late 2015, it was moved from “May” to “Wishlist/Backlog” on the trello roadmap, which was very unfortunate. I just noticed the status had been reverted to May recently, so no longer wishlist or anything. Could we get some insight about a possible date for a future release, or if it’s effectively being worked on ?
There was a recent stream where they showed off some upcoming 4.13, and Mike Fricker had some demos of an Alembic plugin working (IIRC). So I’m pretty sure its going to be a thing soon enough.
That’s great, thanks for the link ! I don’t usually have time to follow their livestreams, and hadn’t read that anywhere else. That definitely looks very good, and very promising not too far in the future.
