Usually when i export cameras and undistorted images using same settings as seen here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yq0XjvBlsiU&t=4s I never had any issues, I use it in blender for texture painting from camera projection. When looking through the camera in Blender it’s completely aligned with model.
But now for the first time cameras are on same positions around the model in blender as they are in reality capture but just kind of zoomed out and not correctly aligned with model.
Only thing’s that are different from the last time I got everything right is now I’m using 1.3 RC version and if it’s more important I also used turntable and mask layer for the first time.
Hi Aki-AljOSa,
this should still work following that tutorial.
Have you changed the global aspect ratio or frame method for the cameras? Or is it possible that the sensor fit was changed?
In blender i changed from default resolution from HD to 6000x4000 to match my camera native megapixels as also seen in tutorial and as I always did before. I’m using Sony a7iii with 24-70 sigma art lens, also same as before.
One thing that is kind of strange (or maybe it’s just think in 1.3 RC version) is that I dont have my camera (sensor) model and lens model showed when I select an image just under file name and it was there in 1.2 version.
I did exported images from Photoshop in 16bit PNG after highlights and shadows correction to minimise contrast, but also kept all image metadata and didnt make any resizing there.
last thing, when i select image, focal length is not the same in blender as it is recognized in RC and when i manual correct it to match RC it still doesnt match image and model like it should.
Hi Aki-AljOSa
you also need to change the camera’s sensor fit to horizontal:
Regarding to focal length, there is a bug, which will be solved in the next release. But this shouldn’t have the influence on the process.
There wasn’t any change in camera sensor database between the versions. Can you try open the imaged in 1.2 version if it will be different? If so, is it possible to share some images with us?
and everything was great until I tried uv unwrap (projection from view) for texture painting. Uv is not matching camera view. UV is much more zoomed in compared to background (camera) image. Any solution for this?
