Alembic Cache "Failed to Create Asset"

Hi, I just watched a Ue4 livestream about Alembic caches and decided to try it myself. Unfortunately, when I try importing the file I get a pop-up warning telling me that the asset failed to import. My Alembic was exported from Maya. What can I do to get my alembic caches to read? It doesn’t even let me as far as the alembic settings page.

I know what the issue is. My object is a nurb surface, not geometry.

Having this problem too, I’m sure my mesh isn’t nurbs, it’s just a wall made from a polygon box, any idea why I am getting this error?
