Horror Lighting System is a modular Unreal Engine lighting toolkit built for horror scenes,
cinematic tension, and reactive environmental storytelling.
It is not a simple tutorial-style flicker effect, but a more advanced system designed for realistic,
controllable, and cinematic lighting behavior. It can be used for anything from a single unstable
lamp to a fully choreographed hallway circuit.
With ready-to-use presets, trigger effects, hallway circuit patterns, emissive synchronization,
and customizable parameters, it covers subtle atmospheric flicker, aggressive blackouts, panic
effects, power instability, and reactive corridor sequences.
The system is powerful under the hood, but easy to use through presets, while still giving advanced
users full control over the final behavior.
Future Updates
If there is strong interest in the plugin, all three systems, Lighting Effects, Trigger Effects, and Hallway
Circuit Effects — will continue to be expanded with new presets, additional features, and planned
audio-related improvements. The goal is to grow the toolkit based on user feedback while keeping
it powerful, flexible, and easy to use.
The package is built around three connected systems:

Hallway Circuit Effects : https://youtu.be/L0auv56ryK4
horror corridors, hospitals, hotels, basements, asylums, and industrial spaces
story-driven power failures and scripted scare moments
environmental tension that reacts to player movement
single-lamp flicker setups
multi-light hallway choreography
emissive lamp meshes that visually match the light behavior
26 handcrafted lighting presets
The core system for individual lights.
1 fully customizable preset
support for Spot, Point, Rect, and Directional Lights
procedural flicker driven by a multi-state system
virtual voltage and lamp behavior simulation
incandescent, fluorescent, and LED-style responses
color temperature shifting
emissive mesh synchronization
runtime preset switching and blending
This system works equally well for a quiet background light or a hero light in a major scare sequence.
2. Trigger Effects2 independent trigger volumes per setup
The interaction system for proximity-based lighting events.
20 built-in trigger effects
single-use or reusable trigger logic
cooldowns, repeat plays, and pawn-only filtering
Blueprint-friendly activation and reset functions
This is designed for setups where a light should react when the player gets close, enters a room, or crosses a specific point in the level.
3. Hallway Circuit Effects17 hallway pattern functions
The group-control system for coordinated multi-light behavior.
wave, alternating, breathing, blackout, surge, and entity-style effects
left / right / center grouping support
ordered corridor playback
save / restore support for running patterns
player reactive options
event delegates for beats, wave steps, setpieces, and stop events
This system is made for situations where you want an entire corridor to feel alive, not just one flickering bulb.
