AIPerception for objects


I have the AI working to sense my objects in the level. Can anyone recommend the best way to only sense those objects that have been set to active (my own variable on each actor)?

Currently I have the AI checking each actor/object in the array in turn to see if they are set to active but without the AI losing sight of the object it never gets updated. Ideally I think its best to check to see if an actor is set to active before using the ‘onperceptionupdated’ but I’m not sure if this is possible?
