Aim offset: arms deformed with preview base pose

Following this tutorial: Creating an Aim Offset | Unreal Engine Documentation

Everything works as expected until I apply step 2.7, after which, the arms contort around the body.

With the preview base pose clear, I can move the preview value around and see the poses aiming in the right direction, but once I set the Preview Base Pose to Idle_Rifle_Hip, it gets messed up. I followed steps 1.17-1.21 correctly.
