I also think that Arstation should not put AI, except if the training images are from the artist himself.
I think that’s the real point of the problem, because actually There’s no use in locking the stable door once the horse has bolted.
As always the problem is not the tools but the evils humans using them.
If I were an artist my only two actions would be to remove all my images from the internet and embrace new technology as quickly as possible.
We are in the battle of “feel like an artist” vs “panic in art attack”
Is impossible artists lose their jobs, there is a lack of professionals terrible.
Is impossible someone who is not artist got a job because AI.

yes, I don’t think a non-artist is capable of resisting the changes that are requested while making a concept.
But I’m also in the side where the images used should keep all their rights even if the final image has nothing to do with it, it’s common sense.
What I see is a lack

I strongly disagree, AI generation is going to kill a lot of artist jobs. (unless the AI tools are stopped due to the coming lawsuits)
You forget we live in capitalism, corporations are always going to try to save money (to keep the shareholders happy) and usually it’s done through cutting salary costs.
AI generation will not kill the jobs of famous and already well-established artists & designers, but it will absolutely kill nearly all the low level artist careers - who rely on small gigs like creating a few concept images or an album cover.
Clients will just use AI generation to do these, with zero cost, instead of paying the salary of a small, striving artist.
And what will the artists then do? They will be forced into ■■■■■■ other jobs, leaving them little to no time to improve their skills and build their portfolio.
Sure there still are going to be jobs for them that require edits, but I can tell you in 99% of the time the clients will just choose the AI generated images … because it’s free.
Are you going to tell me you would pay a few hundred to a few thousands dollar for a real artist, if the AI generated images will look nearly or just as good and cost you nothing? No you won’t.
Equally, why would a corporation hire and pay the salaries of multiple concept artists, if they can just have one guy do it on the side with AI generation … and get results nearly instantly.
AI generation will be the death of a lot of artists, but it will hurt the already struggling low-level workforce the most. And we do not have a UBI to counter that.
