AI content should have its own SEPARATE section, and this is why:

_> welp. Seems like this isn’t going anywhere

Probably won’t. At least they should start acknowledging that this is a actual problem.

I think fab uses some sort of personalization for its search recommendations, all I could find(even with ai products shown) were sketchfab 3d models and some unreal assets for fruit props, none of which looked AI to me.

Do you click on AI products often? I never see AI stuff in search but people here seem to say they see it with every search.

I never click them. Perhaps you just aren’t recognizing them, they are everywhere.

It’s pretty easy to recognize AI products and sellers, I never see them unless I’m browsing the 2d asset section and even then.

The example you provided above isn’t what I saw when I searched for it so the search is different between users.

In my experience, I “sort by recent” and I occasionally see an wave of AI character portraits or RPG icons. And then it goes back to the real stuff.

I’m not entirely sure if it is personalized on account of how everything isn’t following an specific theme, on my end

With all due respect, thats not our job, its not on us to flag mislabeled ai. You can’t expect sellers to be responsible for policing epic’s platform, thats why they let epic take a cut of marketplace sales. If epic refuses to have a usable marketplace then what are the fees collected for???

No one is just going to flag all of the mislabeled ai slop for free its being posted faster than anyone could moderate. You can’t expect people do soend their own time fixing a problem epic created.

I believe sort by recent is bugged, on the last update someone showed a screenshot of sort by recent being used on a search for “water” and it didnt show water assets, instead it showed a bunch of random stuff unrelated to water.

Sorry but this is just a lame excuse, shifting the blame to us honest content creators … you know the people who work their bum off to create honest assets and make FAB viable. Without us, FAB would simply collapse and yet you treat us like our worries and needs don’t matter.
You can’t expect anyone of us to go through ten thousands of AI generated garbage, to check if each of these is correctly flagged as AI. Unless you are going to pay us to do that, of course.

The reality is that FAB is flooded with AI generated garbage assets, it already killed the 2D section and it’s currently killing the music and 3D model section, and if nothing changes it will kill the remaining sections as well.

There is a reason why every discussion on social media, e.g. Reddit, about FAB is how awful it is and how people have no more interest in buying stuff on FAB.
The AI gen flood is huge part of this, not only does it make it an absolute pain to find real, good assets … it also is a risky gamble to buy anything from FAB now, because the legality of AI generated content is still not clear.

AI generated assets need their own category, with sub categories (like 2D, music, etc). Otherwise you are effectively just killing FAB … I doubt this is what the goal was when creating it.
Consider how this situation reflects on Epic, it’s certainly not going to create goodwill or good PR, that much is clear.

Yeah, did any of the unrelated listings had “water” in their description? Because I think that the search engine is set to scan nearly everything that’s in the product listing

Unlikely, it was random props from what I can remember like metal pillars for a building, forklifts, and other random stuff.
