SafeGuard Mobile is a lightweight, C++ based security plugin for Unreal Engine designed to protect Android games from piracy and sideloading by checking the source of installation. It is also very handy when the app is still in development, internal testing and closed testing. It acts as a gatekeeper, automatically detecting if an application was installed from an unauthorized source (sideloaded) and allows developers to trigger countermeasures, such as displaying a warning widget or closing the application.
While SafeGuard Mobile provides robust protection against common piracy and sideloading attempts, no client-side security solution is 100% effective against dedicated attackers with advanced reverse-engineering skills.
