I was asked to make a new bug report as it is not the bug UE-14476.
Basically, mouse click only responds about 1 out of 10 times.
My project has UMG Widget menus in it. It supports either gamepad or mouse/keyboard but not both simultaneously. At startup asked to either click or press the options button on the gamepad and a variable is set and effects branching from then on in Widgets etc.
This all worked previously.
If playing with mouse/keyboard and not controller, the mouse click only responds about 1 out of 10 clicks.
It may be a different issue but widgets now steal controller input, but do not process it correctly. I was using extended buttons that I set hover on, but that broke with 4.11 and now there is a dotted outline when simulating hover.
Hello ,
I have a few questions for you that will help narrow down what issue it is that you are experiencing.
- Can you reproduce this issue in a clean project?
- If so, could you provide a detailed list of steps to reproduce this issue on our end?
- Could you provide screen shots of any widgets/blueprints that may be involved with this issue?
The project is a nights and weekends one, so I don’t have the time right now to try to reproduce it in a clean project. I can privately share a link to you of a Development Build and provide quick steps to reproduce the problem in it. Both the mouse click firing and the controller menu hover.
Hello ,
If you would like to provide the project, I will take a closer look to see if I can narrow down what issue it is that you are experiencing.
Where do I send the link? I won’t share it publicly.
You can provide it to me via dropbox or google drive in a private message on the forums if you would like.
I was waiting to send the project because I was changing the camera and controller perspective. In doing so I made a change that fixed the problem that I was having. Unfortunately I don’t know what I did exactly that fixed it, but mouse clicks are firing away fine now. Thank you for being willing to look at it.
Hello ,
I am happy to hear that your issue has been resolved. I will be converting your last comment to an answer. If this issue returns please feel free to reopen this thread with any additional information you may have to reproduce this issue on our end. Thank you for your time and information.
Make it a great day
