Started working on new RPG project with some old friends of mine, similar to the old pnp rpg Gamma World. We obviously can’t use the title as it’s owned by WoTC, by the game premise is about the same. Anyway here are a few screens of what would be considered the starting area for new players. If all goes well it will be a rpg with multi-player included, would love to do an mmo like Dungeons and Dragons Online, City of Heroes, or SWG influenced, but we’ll see how it goes.
Forgot to add this one as it’s an in game shot. Thanks to Hippowombat, Titanic Games, and UnrealGaimeDev for the tutorials and Orbit Sky system things are going well.
Just made my first character race for After the Fall, other than the standard human. This is a Kalishar female character made in iClone. Should have her over into Unreal in a few hours.
Yes thats next on the list to do. Been jumping between making the characters and animating them in iClone then hopping over to the engine to work on the landscape and starting area. The characters are all done so now I can focus my full attention on building the world.
Looks good so far, but, one thing that is glaringly obvious is the leaves on the trees. You need to add some random rotation to each of the leaf planes. As it is currently, all the planes are facing the same direction. Also, the material for the leaves don’t appear to have an alpha mask, so, the leaves are just green squares.
I like the top down map in the right corner of the HUD. That’s a nice touch.
Did a test run through last night of the start up area. I just used the Epic Mannequin as I’m still working on getting the anims for my characters tweaked out. Sorry for the lag in the video, Camtasia and the game were bending my 8 gig ram over. Ordering an upgrade of ram today and may even get the newest video card. Anyway, have a look when you get a chance.
@Unfamillia I’m still trying to sort things out with the trees and such. Those trees are directly from Speedtree so they should already be set, I’ll need to read through the documents on both Speedtree and Epic’s sites to see if I’m missing something.
