Finely carved Ori Olokun head rendered in blackwood. It depicts a stylized human face with softly rounded cheeks, full lips, and almond-shaped eyes set beneath arched brows, giving it a calm, dignified expression. The facial surface is covered with fine vertical striations, a common Yoruba carving technique that adds both texture and symbolic depth.
The head is adorned with an elaborate headdress, featuring a braided or ribbed circular crown encircling the forehead and a tall, spiraled crest rising prominently from its center. The crest tapers to a rounded point, lending the sculpture a regal and commanding presence. The base is cylindrical, smoothly carved to provide stability and a visual anchor for the composition.
