Affordable Landscapes 2

Thank you for your clarification Sir I guess I just got caught a little in what I was reading and got a tad concerned, as I said I’m more than happy at this point.

I’m maybe a little frustrated at time with what for me is a steep learning curve but that’s nobody else’s fault and you have been most helpful for me this is over and done with you have set my mind at ease, thank you

Hey guys,

You can now follow the documentation progress on the trello board as well. The cards marked with grey color are documented.

Some wont be marked grey, doesn’t mean they won’t be documented, but means they can’t be documented. Such as a rock.

We could submit the package yesterday but didn’t do so in order to get up to speed on the documentation. In less than 24 hours we’ll do our submission and hope the documentation will be done before the package goes live. It’s just for learning.

The package is submitted!

So this is 3 pages from the WIP documentation showing how it looks like. (Currently up to 49 pages).
Trying to explain everything and how they work as well as every little parameter in every function and material instance.

Absolutely incredible work! Definitely buying AF2, AF1 was great in its own right. This is a clear step forward.

Thanks!

And the background meshes.
(Without and with).

Files are sent over to Epic. We’re waiting to see what happens with the review stage.
The offline documentation is done.
I’m putting it out here in case anyone wants to take a look at it.

Feedback is welcome.
Thanks.

Still waiting for the review to pass I take it?
How long does the review process generally take from your experience out of curiosity?

They said they couldn’t download the content from dropbox for some reason. I have uploaded it to google drive and forwarded them that. I’m not sure if they’ve looked at the email yet or not.
In my good experience with the marketplace the review should be done in ~1 week from the submission day. In my bad experience with marketplace like you might have heard from others, sometimes it takes very, very long dark ages. I’m looking on the bright side and thinking it should take about a week.

So what’s the plan for Landscape six?

Cant wait!!! Hurry up Epic release it!

Throws money at the computer screen

Looks awesome and can use for my current project

I want to point again that we don’t promise free monthly updates for this as we did for AL1. But will do updates when possible.
The good news is first update is already WIP. BLACK ASH DESERT!
@OptimisticMonkey, I sent them another email today asking if they’ve got the new upload downloaded. No reply yet.

Black ash desert wip images.

Reminds me of that one black beach in Hawaii

Had a little time today doing some more progress. Mostly tweaking materials and lighting.

Added some sulfur type of stuff.

Are newer landscapes now without seams? Personally i can use some of those for scenery video but for my game projects it is difficult. The new stuff looks great!

Which seams? can you show one for example?

I mean the patchwork of landscape pieces, i think you know what i mean.

If you mean the static meshes well static meshes never merge with landscape nor with each other.
This is how levels are setup (almost):

Common practice is that you block player from moving near the red lines in order to prevent them seeing the world’s end.
