I am looking to invest in to a new PC for UE4 development, that I will use for the next 5+ years…

My budget is around 3,000EUR

My setup is as follows and at this time costs around 2,870 EUR.

Would you recommend any changes?

  • M/B: Asus X99-PRO Intel X99 So.2011-3 Quad
  • RAM: 64GB G.Skill RipJaws V rot DDR4-3000 DIMM
  • GPU: 6144MB MSI GeForce GTX 980 Ti Gaming 6G
  • SSD: 512GB Samsung 950 Pro M.2 2280 PCIe 3.0 x4 32Gb/ V-NAND
  • HDD: 2000GB WD RE4 WD2000FYYZ 64MB 3.5"
  • CASE: NZXT Phantom 630 mit Sichtfenster Big Tower
  • PSU: 750 Watt Corsair RMx Series Modular 80+ Gold
  • CPU COOLING: Corsair Hydro Series H110

You probably don’t need 64GB of RAM, unless you’re building very large maps and want to use baked lighting.
Also, make sure your motherboard supports 3000mhz RAM otherwise it’s a waste.

That motherboard supports up to DDR4 3300, so you are good.
For that build, I’d suggest 1x 512 GB SSD and 2x 3 TB HDD.
