I’ve been developing a MarioKart game for personal use, so far I have created the environment, and I have come across a few useful models. Some models come with the character already in the kart and some have the kart and character separately.
I was just wondering if anybody had any advice on which model to use? And if anyone has any tips on where to start programming (I’m using blueprints)!
Hey there @amy_hyde! Welcome back to the community! In my opinion, you want to have models that you can move the rigs for the character around as well. This allows you to have the characters jump up or animate wildly with their karts. It’s especially useful if you’ll be making customizable karts or allowing players to choose their character and their kart, much like Mario Kart. Separate is just better logistically in most cases, even if there’s a small amount of extra work getting all models to work with all karts.

@SupportiveEntity Thank you so much for your response! That makes so much sense! Definitely going to go down the individual kart route!
