Hum, none of the pics or videos seem to be rendered in Unreal. They all look like 3d programm + render, like for example 3ds .
If you really have all that in Unreal, can you please post a video from within the Editor with one of the scenes and move like a static mesh?
You can use free software to record any part of youre screen(s) like “open broadcaster software”. Also a movie with youre mobile phone would do.
thats some kind of crazy, but i guess i should take it as a compliment
why should i fool people with such nonsence.
let me assure you all of this is in unreal running in 4K with 15-20 frames on my computer ( fully unoptimized )
here are two screens from the editor, sorry not taking a movie right now… only if you really will insist on it …
but what exactly do you mean in this scene ? if its about the last two pictures … they dont have ground tesselation at all
do you mean the roots and stones coming through a crack in the floor ?
here comes a further developed version of the starting room of the game.
this is how a scene and the transitions between places in the scene could work in game.
once the charakter moves near another place, there will be a short cameraflight.
some of these flights will be soft scrolling while character is moving (starting point moving to the right and looking to the ladder), some will be real short flights (e.g. from starting position up to the storage room )
recorded with shadowplay in 4k with 15-20 fps fully unoptimized.
Hi n00854180t [interesting Name by the way, hope i didnt mispel it ],
thx for your nice comment.
the basic scene is modedeled by myself and then i go on detailing it out, but many of the smaller things, like statues, etc. are from various free model ressources in the internet, though to avoid any problems i always alter them a bit.
Other assets are bought on the marketplace or on evermotion e.g. but most of the scene is really done by me.
about beeing jealous, as an artist i am intensly jelaous, cause i cant programm anything serious in ue4. So if you ever consider to come on board, you would be very very welcome !
there is a whole point & click system to be developed for the game …
@ franktech: thx for your comment, too. its always nice to hear such kind words.
I like this scene, too ;-). but i think i will have another change in lighting sometime in the future… after the scene is done for a while and you look at it again, there is always something you would like to do better …
Hit me up on Steam if you can @stucki, same nickname as on here Maybe we can come to an arrangement for helping eachother out in the areas we’re each weak in. I’m usually online and would be happy to help you figure out the basis of your system regardless.
here is a new in-game simulation of a cavern scene, which is found by the player at the end of chapter 1
as always recorde with shadowplay in 4k with ca. 16 fps fully unoptimized
Wow the revised video has a lot of improvement! Didn’t expect the elevator, that looks like fun.
My layman critique:
I like the checkerbox pattern, it seems in the revised video you covered up portions of it with the bookcases which I think is good thing for adding more variety to the visual composition. I would try to add even more fixtures like hanged paintings / candle/lanterns on the walls?
But at 0:11 I feel there the lighthouse/portal structure’s walls could use an extra pattern to segment the checkerbox material. But considering the way you’ve improved the level I’m sure most of these things will be addressed!
Hi ZenrokStudios,
thx for your points. thats exactly the kind of c&cs i wanted to get.
both your points are valid, and i would like to adress them next time i work on this scene.
