@ franktech: thx. I really appreciate your kind words !
but as i am trying to make a adventure game out of this there maybe will be some content i can put on the marketplace after the game is done / or i failed to do it
another one broken down
this time a bigger castle corridor …
actually i like this the most
comments for improvements ?
Lookin snazy!
Looks great!
thx guys !
i messed around with the scene a little more ( creating point of interest )
getting more in the direction of a museum now …
got back from vacation and worked on another scene in the museum …
always interested in your opinions !
Very nice artworks.
At the last pic the lightning looks a bit wrong for me and the direction of the wooden texture on some ceiling bars(other pics) too.
good luck for your nice project.
thx for the comment ! you are right in both points.
on the second pic the lighning is to strong and should be reduced to the amount of the other one.
and i have to rework some mapping in 3dsmax
some more work on the grand room of the museum.
adjusted lighting added some more details etc…
any comment is appreciated
Hi Franktech, thx for the stellar
sorry, but i didnt know “black sails” till now …(did a short google search for it and now i found a new tv series to watch, thank you )
so i cant say much about the comparison right now.
it will be a classik point & click adventure (in UE4 grafics though ) spanning different worlds and so very different settings.
in maybe two month from now i am planning to start a kickstarter campaing.
till then you have to keep waiting for more info
Basement out of Penny Dreadful Your detail work is amazing Stucki! Now stop detailing and work a bit on light. Somehow you seem to use this very odd exposure and contrast setting. This makes for a very unique experience but it counteracts visual fidelity in that it kinda blends everything together, making it difficult to perceive proper depth and focal points for the viewer. If that makes any sense whatsoever? Maybe do some small experiments on a fairly simplified version of a scene of yours (to cut down dramatically on testbuild time) and see how you can improve without starting to feel uncomfortable compared to what you’re aiming for now?
@ Chesire: thx for your comment ! this is why i post my work here !!. i know exactly what you mean, but i always get to this kind of look after adding more and more lights to the scene.
Maybe i should keep “less is more” on my mind while working on the scenes.
I will try to test your ideas with this scene tomorrow.
as all this is realtime lighting (no baking) testbuildtime isnt very large
again thx for the constructive critics
stucki
EDIT:
did a little tweaking right now…
better or worse ?
have been working for some tieme on converting a new location to ue 4 and had to learns some adjustements to ue 4.8 with it.
