I can finally share this love letter to my favorite cartoon series Adventure Time. My friend and I wanted to capture the lived in home vibe of this special place, and as a love letter to the series we created the entire treehouse in UE5. Lighting is done using lumen and Ultra Dynamic Sky.
We hope you enjoy it <3
Hi there @MrBobarian,
Hope you’re well and having a wonderful week so far
Just popping in to say the art style in this is absolutely stunning. The vibrancy of the colors combined with the lighting and charming wood elements are all done so well. Reminds me of a fairytale! Super impressed by this.
Do you plan on recreating other cartoon environments or was this more of a solo project?
Hello @MrBobarian ! Welcome back to posting with us here on the forums!
I love the cross section you show us with this project. It goes to show your love for not only the project but the content itself. Seeing your 3d take on a lot of these items and environments is quite fascinating. I even personally think you’ve made some great wallpaper worthy items as well!
About how long did this project take?
That’s awesome to hear, I’m happy you like our interpretation!
The project started back in UE4 and using baked lighting on this was quite the hassle. Building up the vibrancy and tones in lumen was so much easier to work with. I wanted to bring in that warm low contrasty stylized look into the Adventure Time style.
It was most likely a one off since it became a shared project with a friend back at school
Good to be here
Yeah the idea with the cross section was to fully showcase how we built everything in a coherent layout with everything connected and didn’t cheat. It was a big part of the challenge to find a layout and structure that made sense based on the series (which doesn’t make sense at all )
I’m considering making a print of the cross section, I could upload the highres somewhere if people want to use it themselves
We spent about 5-6 months intensely, then it’s been here and there for 6 years collecting dust. we finally managed to give it the final push and finish it…
Well, I hope we get to see your other projects when you get time to work on them In the meantime, I wish you all the bug free development hours
