Advanced elevator blueprint

Thanks for sharing this great project. I’m trying to add this to the VirtualRealityBP template that comes with URE 4. I have an elevator with curved doors, that was easy to change. I can’t figure out why you have the collect items and interact object been trying to cut this stuff out. I see why you stagered the buttons so you only have to use the z distance from the bottom of the inside panel. I need to use the MotionControllerPawn Blueprint and the BP_MotionController Buleprint to I have the teleportation working. Any way you could point me in the right direction would be much appreciated. Again thanks for the great start.

I downloaded the files and all worked, however when I migrated the files into another project is where I got stuck. I am using a newer version and when I click on play I get the usual third person view, how do I change this so I get a red dot so I can point this to select an floor within the elevator?

You have to set GameMode to “Interact GameMode” in your project.

Thank you for the reply, it worked a treat, I was looking at the wrong place to change it. I just now have to work out to reverse the action when moving away from that interaction area.

How do I set this up with an entirely different character that I have already established? Thanks for releasing this for free btw!

Thanks for the community content. I took a look at it and liked the elevator sound effects. I used the sounds in my project. Freesound.org can be quite time consuming to comb through at times.

Is there any way we can get a tutorial on integration of this with another project? I have a first/third person project, but it isn’t working right for some reason.

, Thanks for the awesome blueprint again. I commented before asking about how to make it work in VR. I have been working on some assets I’m submitting to the Marketplace which you can see here: Mars Orion Project "LivingQuarters" - YouTube and in it I have created an elevator blueprint based on yours. I have changed a significant part of it and the button system as well as removing the item collection and inventor system and simplified other parts but I did base it on what I learned from your Blueprint so I’m hoping it is alright with you that I sell it in the Marketplace? This is NOT an Elevator Blueprint for sale, the Elevator is just a small part of it. They would be buying a Mars Research facility “Living Quarters” 245 meshes, it’s an Asset Pack. Greetings! I downloaded this asset several months ago and initially had problems getting this to work, having taken a break and working on my other project which I want to use this inside of and having becoming a little more grounded with blueprints from my time with UE4 with a few version upgrades, I decided to bring this into UE 4.21 and it’s now working beautifully with a minor issue or two. One issue is the buttons don’t light up and the other is getting trapped inside the elevator shaft dropping through the elevator car.

I updated to 4.23 and noticed the light bug, too.

Is possible add this elevator in a vr project guys?

It should work in VR. But you have to use the “InteractPlayer” and add your VR code to it.
Or you use your own player class and add the interaction logic.
