Is it possible to adjust the position of an animation’s root without messing with the rest of it?
For context I got a placeholder animation from Mixamo that didn’t have an option for root motion (Drop To Free Hang). I retargetted it to UE5 Manny without issue, and it looks like it’ll work for what I need right now, if I could just tweak the root position without messing with the rest of it.
(The root is on the ‘floor’ of the animation rather than the feet of the model)
If you bake your motion to a control rig…
You can then temporarily move some controls to World Space like the feet, body and pole vectors. Once you’ve done that you can do whatever you want to your global and/or root…. Then move those controls back to parent space…
