Adding physics to a skeleton mesh makes model collapse

Hi guys,
I am new to animation, rigging and skeletons. I have a rigged and animated model which I want to apply physics to. now, inside the PhysicsAsset object, when adding bodies, the following happens:

How can I tell the physics engine to keep the model as-is and just fall on the ground as one? I hope the question was clear enough. I just want the model to be affected by physics but not collapse.

its suppose to happen like that when you press play in physics as thats how the physics tests and handles on the bird .
you can lock the physics handles on the sockets.
And then later you can animate it in either thru blend space mode  .

im pretty sure thats the answer to your question  .

I’m having the same problem, can you give screen shots and/or more detail on how to solve this?
