Adding LODs to a mesh is adding new material slots to asset

Hello,

I am currently running into an issue while creating LODs for my assets. when i import an LOD in the static mesh editor. I end up ( usually like 75% of the time) with a bunch of blank material slots that control the newly imported LOD. its easy enough just to drag the same materials i need into those slots, but I feel as if this will end up hindering performance by increasing the ‘draw calls’ for each asset .

so im curious if anyone has had this issue and knows how to resolve it,

ehhh, you can easily assign the base LOD’s Material Slot to your LOD Models and remove unused Material Slots.
