Adding a transparent material to a building turns the model into a low res model

So, I have a building model in version 5.32 that I’m texturing & everything is going fine until I place a transparent material for the windows. When I apply the transparent material to the model… it instantly turns into a low resolution version of the model. I’ve never seen anything like it. All of the other 3d programs I use can accept transparent materials without a hitch. Anyone have any thoughts?

Nanite supports masked materials, but not translucent materials. When you apply a translucent material on a Nanite enabled mesh the mesh will revert to the Nanite Fallback mesh. You have to disable Nanite on any meshes that use a translucent material, or use a masked material instead of a translucent material for transparency. You can use the Dither Temporal AA node in the material to replicate a solid glass-like look for a masked material (keep in mind that a masked material will not be able to use refraction).

OK, I’ll give that a try… THANKS!
