Adding a skeleton to a blank mesh

I made a simple alien character called Fava Bean Man and imported the mesh, but my modeling skeleton was not imported with it. How can I add a skeleton so that it can be animated?

Help please

when you import it it needs to have been skinned in a 3d program already. That attaches the skeleton. If that’s already done, when you import you should have the option of importing it as a skeletal mesh instead of a static mesh

Should I import from files or simply drag the file in?

Export .fbx file from your 3D programm and import this file from the menu in UE4.

I used a obj file though…

I got my skeletal mesh, but it only has 1 bone. How can I fix this? I can’t animate that.
