Hi. I’m not that experienced in 3D work but every 3D package I’ve used including Max, Lightwave and Blender I’ve been able to follow a tutorial and add a material to the surface. I realise UE5 is a different beast but after following over 10 tutorials with no idea why the material won’t show on the landscape.
I’m wondering if someone can mail me a project file with an open world landscape, with three colours. They don’t even have to be textures as I’m so desperate now to get this project finished.
I just need green for grass, grey for soil and brown for dirt, Please. I’m not sure if I’m breaking forum rules by asking this but as I say, desperate.
Hey there @EnglishKVTV! Sorry to hear you’re having trouble with the landscape material system! What version of UE5 are you using? Did you apply the landscape material to the landscape, then paint over it in landscape mode? Worst case scenario I could make you a template, but debugging landscape issues is going to be necessary either way.
I don’t want to throw yet another tutorial at you, but this recommendation is for anyone who also finds this post as well. If you were to follow this, what portion reacts differently? This tutorial by Virtus is pretty quick to set up and explains most of what they are doing as they do it:

Thanks. Just after I posted this I was able to get a texture onto Landscape 2. I would have added a second landscape and the texture seemed to work on the second one I added. But when I try to add to the original it doesn’t work. So big thanks as I’d just do the work on the second landscape and delete the first.
I’ll still take a look at that tutorial though
Thanks
