I’m working on a project with mechanics similar to that of the Crash Bandicoot games, where the forward movement input would influence the level camera to move forward.
Right now, I’ve got a separate Actor class with a camera and a spring arm component in my level. On BeginPlay, I get my player controller and set it to the separate actor using Set View Target With Blend. This way, the camera component is not influenced by the player’s movement from left to right.
I do however want the camera to move back and forth as the player does. I’ve tried extending the movement input sequence from the starter content ThirdPersonBP player character, but as I try to add movement input to the separate LevelCamera actor, I’m told that the Component Reference is not compatible with the player character Pawn Reference.
tl;dr: Is there a way to add movement/rotation input along an axis to an Actor in relation to that of a Character class?
