Add more options for creators to choose between Modern & Legacy Visual features like UI and Animations

Tell us your feedback. What is working, what is not, and what would you change?

A lot of people really do NOT like the current look of Fortnite. From the UI to the animations, and quite literally everything in between, none of it really feels like it belongs in Fortnite. I really don’t know what it is with Epic and not creating toggleable options for things like this.

Examples of things that could have been turned into toggles instead of being outright removed:

  1. The Battle Pass UI, Like the XP Bar at the bottom of the screen, and the chapter 2 level up animation (Which the HUD Controller Device, INCLUDING THE UPDATED VERSION, STILL has options for, despite those options doing nothing now)

  2. The old, animated damage numbers that fell apart

  3. Pre-Chapter 5 character movement animations, which had a lot more charm to them than the new ones. This ALSO includes the Guard Patrolling animations, which the modern ones feel too much like something you would see in fricking Call of Duty or something.

BONUS OPTION THAT IS SPECIFIC TO BATTLE ROYALE:
Maybe add a sound slider for MUSIC THAT PLAYS IN GAME?! No, I am NOT talking about the lobby music slider, I’m talking about music that plays during things like Boss encounters or when fighting guards, or you know… EXTRACTING SPRITES?! I personally loved the music that played when calling an extraction crate, but apparently a ton of people didn’t. And as Epic usually does, they just deleted it instead of making it a toggle. Also, I know a ton of people have complained in the past about Henchmen/Guard and Boss music being “annoying and too loud” (which I don’t agree with but ok), SO WHY NOT ADD A FRICKING SOUND SLIDER FOR IT!!! IT WOULD SOLVE EVERYTHING! Thank God Epic didn’t listen to that complaint, but still an easy fix to that would be to MAKE! IT! AN! OPTION!

My point is that epic needs to start giving us more OPTIONS instead of outright removing things. If Epic plans on removing something that could easily be turned into a toggle… maybe just make it a toggle??

tl;dr OPTIONS! OPTIONS!! OPTIONS!!! ADD MORE OPTIONS!!! STOP OUTRIGHT REMOVING THINGS!!!

Thank you for laying out the examples so clearly. A toggle is a reasonable middle ground, because it lets creators and players who prefer the earlier look keep it without forcing the new presentation on everyone. The HUD Controller options that remain in the device but no longer have any effect are a good case in point, since a setting that does nothing is confusing for anyone building an island.

It may help to keep the request focused on specific items (the XP bar, damage numbers, movement animations, music volume) so the team can evaluate each one separately.
