I have a project where I aligned 100+ LIDAR scans and 33,000+ photographs (jpg). All sections have been meshed and now I’m getting cleaned up models back for texture projection. However, rather than getting them from jpgs I’ve been asked to generate them from the exr images instead which I didn’t have initially.
All jpg and exr relations are as follows:
jpg: filename.jpg
exr: filename.jpg.texture.exr
However, when import all the exr images they add onto the source inputs rather than insert them as texture layer images on top of the images already there. Is there a different workflow here that I’m not getting right?
Dear Jan,
Please, what version or RealityCapture do you have?
I checked it and your mentioned approach should work.
For example - geometry image: 1.jpg texture image: 1.jpg.texture.exr
Also, you can have two folders, one for texture and one for geometry:
Where the images should have the same name:
1.jpg 1.exr
Then just drag and drop folder with texture layer images and it should work.
If it won’t work, please try to " make it like a clean install" (this will reset your settings to default in the process):
In order to do that:
Shift + Double LeftMouseClick on RealityCapture icon
From drop-down select make it like a clean install and press ok
I’m in the same situation but importing the images from a folder named _texture didn’t work, the new images were appended in the image list (not merged with the image with the same name).
I tried to disabling the texture for the jpgs and running the texture process but the result was totaly black.
I also reset the settings.
Can anyone help me to get it to work ? I have an alignment of 1420 image with lots of control points I don’t want to restart from scratch!
