Add "Create Material Function" to Blueprint-Editor


I’m using an Actor-Action-Utility to create a complex Material. Within the Blueprint-Editor I can create Material-Expressions and wire them up via Connect Material-Expressions. But I cannot create Material-Functions and wire those up, that’s a bummer, because if I could use Functions, I could add complexity into a function and then just create an Instance of it instead of rebuilding it and wiring it up in a Blueprint.

I really like the flexibility the editor-utilities brings into UE and hope that you add this feature as it would make the creation of materials way easier and faster.

This is still a thing. It’s ALMOST there but it doesn’t allow for Material Functions. Super sad.
I had to batch edit A LOT of materials today and I won’t be able to do it.
