Hi fam,
Hopefully this doesnt fall on deaf-ears; everyone knows the workaround & wont vote…
I have added 384 as a grid-snap-size to all my editors, so this is a very minor gripe - but the fix is also so simple and commonsense and I really think this will MASSIVELY reduce friction for new users.
As a numpty myself, it actually took me a moment to work out what was going on by vertex-snapping walls atop one-another, before I finally searched/stumbled the page which explains fortnite-unit sizes.
I’m certain you have greater plans to enhance that fortnite-units snapping button that now exists, but given that your own floor prefabs are currently so hit-and-miss, I STRONGLY request that 384 is added to the editor by default in the meantime; at least until you have 100% coverage.
Please add 384 as a default grid-snap level, so that everyone is already setup for the grid-height of 1 fortnite-unit from the get-go.
BTW if your iteration-time is too slow to implement this, or if you decline because you REALLY want UE5’s power-two’s only (despite the fortnite-unit height)… then please as an alternate:
Consider mentioning the 384 height with a link/reverselinks between your Grid-Snapping Best Practices , the fortnite-units page and the one that explains how to add custom snap sizes in preferences. Again though - I consider that redundancy and frankly a step that risks overwhelming noobz who are critical to this ecosystem.
Thx for your consideration <3
