You can always license Enlighten for UE4 if you want the same lighting tech as Unity. I looks like Unity devs did add area lights, not sure if it’s a standard Enlighten feature now or not https://labs.unity.com/article/real-time-polygonal-light-shading-linearly-transformed-cosines
Enlighten still requires baking and lightmaps, and dynamic objects don’t cast GI, so it’s not really a fully dynamic solution.
Theres alot of smoke and mirrors going on in that video…
I can asure you that you can achieve this and more in ue4 too.
Just look at the upcoming 4.13 features and you know theres alot to come.

Enlighten has some pretty severe limitations, and the implementation in Unity is really poor.
It was in one of the latest streams, sry i forgot the exact one. One of the gamejam ones and they kicked 4.12 off too.
