Actors not detecting Cursor Overlap after Widget has been over it and gone again...

Ok bit of an Odd one for me…

I have several actors acting as floating buttons, they are constantly facing the camera. once I overlap them one with the cursor it changes the material of the button and if you click it it activates a camera move. this all works the way I want it to.

Along side this I have a drop down menu on the far left of the screen, this opens up and you can select things from it and then minimise it again. my problem is that once the menu has dropped down and gone back up again, the space where it used to be no long lets the cursor overlap function work correctly with my floating buttons…

I have been going through different articles and I think it has something to do with the “viability” of the Widget, but I dont understand if I set it to “hittest invisible” I won’t be able to interact with the widget! I want to be able to interact with the drop down menu and the 3D space to the side when ever!

what happen if you use collapse instead invisible for the widget menu?
