Actor invisible with visibility on

So, I have an actor that should be in the level, is there while editing, but when I test the level and go to where he should be, he is not there. His visibility is on, his coordinates are right, but he is not there. He is overlapping with a trigger and an object(with no collision), so it shouldn´t affect him. Anyway, any ideas on what I could do to fix this?

check the HiddenInGame bool too

Hidden in game is off, so that´s not it either…

Perhaps the actor’s visibility is fine but one of its components, like the mesh, is set to be invisible?

Other than that, have that actor print its visibility and its own coordinates - draw a debug sphere or similar.

I checked, all components are visible, his printed coordinates are right and it says it is visible…

Maybe you change its scale at runtime, set visibility at runtime, set its mesh or its components position to another location. Actor root position is not mesh position ( unless you make it so ). Is it a physics actor. Maybe some other blueprint changes this blueprint. Could be many things.

Are there any non-root components that are simulating physics? A static mesh ball can roll away from the actor’s coordinates, for example. Wild guessing :person_shrugging:

maybe spatially loaded is on?

Simulate physics is off. Spacially loaded was on, I tried turning it off but it didn´t made it visible. I also tried making the actor spawn elsewhere and be teleported to the original spot later, but it was no use.

A few more details I forgot to mention because I don´t know if they matter, but this actor I´m trying to turn visible is a blueprint inside another blueprint, and there were suppose to be multiple of them on the level, but all of them are having this invisibility problem.

Start the game, then alt tab out of it, while it is still running. Then check stats for your actor in the Outliner.

Yup, that´s what I´ve been doing. While editing or running, it says there´s nothing wrong. I´ve even added random lights, spheres, materials and textures to the blueprint to test, and none of them are visible.

Anyway, I´ve noticed this actor´s name is the only one in yellow on the outliner while running the game. Hope this is a useful lead.

Yellow means it was spawned at runtime.

Try to copy the actor into a new project. If it has the same effect, post your actor here.

Blueprint_Crocodile.rar (27.4 MB)

I tried to copy the actor to another project, but could´t make it happen. So here it is, hope someone can help me find the solution. I´m sending the actor and some other files related to it to make it work.

The problematic file is in jungle_water_crocodile, the one called Crocodiles_Blueprint.uasset its three crocodiles that should go after the player when he enters their area, but they´re invisible, so I can´t see them and couldn´t test that mess of a blueprint yet to see if it works…

My UE does not recognize your files. Make a cut-down copy of your project and send it here; you can use Google Drive if it’s too big. Also, what version are you on?

only thing i found is bp_crocodile was missing actual skeletal_mesh and also there is missing widget class in Construct node looking like some widget for player perhaps. try to fix these and see if it helps. crcodile is visible in level in 5.8

your attached lvl however didnt load due to some errors (i think missing other project files)

You placed your crocodiles inside a base collision component and didn’t uncheck Actor Hidden in game:

Also, don’t do this:

This will add +10 to Z on every tick, they’ll fly into the sky.

they are called orbital crocodiles :D:D
