Accredited colleges only qualify for free subscription...

Hi

We have decided to to incorporate Unreal Engine into our Interactive Media course at the college and filled out the Academic Signup. We received the following response:

"Thank you for your interest in UE4. Unfortunately, at this time we are only able to offer the free subscription to accredited colleges and universities. However, you are still eligible as an educational institution to purchase one subscription and install it on all of your school’s computers. Please refer to this blog post for more information: Unreal Engine 4 for schools, faculty and students. "

Does anybody know how we can become an accredited college and qualify for the free subscription? We intend to use this on a regular basis and also would like students to use it on their personal computers.

Any advice and guidance will be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

Maj

Hey Maj,

Here is all the information you need for getting accredited in the U.S. If your school is located outside the U.S. I would recommend looking to your government’s website or education agency to see if they offer something similar.

Thank you Angelcuban for your reply.

Our college (Cleveland College of Art & Design) is officially recognised by the government:

Is this the same?

You need to be listed here. DAPIP

This is for US only; we are based in the UK.

Thanks

Check if your university or college can award a degree: Overview - GOV.UK This is where it should be listed. There is an American institution with the same name so if there is confusion you’ll have to contact Epic’s suport directly.

Thank you for all who responded; Good news it is now completely free for all.
