I’m writing this because I genuinely do not know what else to do anymore.
I’m a creator whose income depends heavily on Fab. In the last couple of months, my account has been repeatedly suspended with little or no actionable explanation.
I have removed anything that could even remotely cause issues. I understand the need for IP moderation. But right now the system feels impossible to navigate because creators are not told specifically what caused suspensions and are given zero feedback.
I’ve contacted support multiple times and posted on the forums multiple times, stating that I’m very willing to fix the issues with my assets, by being given a warning or a heads up first. But all I get is an instant suspension for weeks.
I’m simply asking for:
A real human review of my account,
clarification about what specific assets I can’t upload
Right now it genuinely feels impossible to safely continue uploading assets, and that is devastating when this platform is your primary source of income.
The sanction ID is: f55cb9bf-e680-49cc-9686-076e9d95e169
The most recent sanction for potential brand was the use of MacBooks in your listing. These decisions are made by humans. When a violation is found, it triggers a template response that identifies the type of violation that has been identified. For this type of sanction, multiple warnings are issued before a suspension goes into effect. Appeals through the Epic Games Trust and Safety Center are also reviewed by humans. The decisions have been upheld on appeal because reviewers have found that the listings have violated the Content Guidelines. Epic has published an IP FAQ that provides more information about intellectual property that you can view here.
My appeal was denied in 5 minutes, I’m sure a real human downloaded my project and looked at it very closely.
In the asset, there is only a generic laptop with no logos or branding on it. Why am I being punished so harshly because an object has an outline of a real product. How am I supposed to have any confidence in future uploading Archviz assets, when everything can automatically suspend my account.
The reason that the suspension was triggered was because strikes are tracked, and when a community member accumulates significant violations over time, warnings and delisting of products escalate to suspensions. Eventually, continued violations can lead to a publisher account deactivation.
In this particular situation, the director of Epic’s IP Ops team did a secondary review of this incident, and reversed the decision. That removes the strike and lifts the suspension.
Thank you for restoring my account. However the issue, which I already raised a year ago is still there. I’m just going to get banned again for the smallest issue and we will have the same conversation. I don’t want to waste your time and I don’t want my time being wasted either.
I know I have accumulated a lot of sanctions, but I have attempted to fix and appeal all of them and have always been rejected.
Later I was told that sanctions can’t be removed by fixing the issue. Which doesn’t track with what is written on the appeal page. Which is: “…explain the changes you made to your content”.
At least reset the sanction count for me and look into fixing the system down the road. A system where we are told what the problem is and are give a day to fix it.
I am very willing to follow the marketplace guidelines and modify or remove any assets that violate policy. I am not willing to wait weeks and play a guessing game with my livelihood on the line.
