Access violation - code c0000005 Opening my project

This crash has started after I’ve removed one connection to a node, inside a function and compiled. Since then, my project simply does not open anymore without crashing.

I’ve opened the ReportQueue txt file and it was saying that some functions were not found inside my project. Those function were not even changed before the crash.

I cant remove my entire Parent blueprint because those functions simply faded away from the project (as reported inside the report queue).

I want to know how can I change this BP class in code in order to remove these two functions and rewrite it after the project loads, if its the quicker solution.

Managed to make it work by copying the uasset to another project, renaming its extension inside the bugged project and them migrated from the new project to the bugged one.
It’s a workaround, but still makes no sense this same asset that was migrated without changes would make the project crash, and its copy not.

It’s worth the investigation, at least.

  • No. I’ve created a new project with the uasset inside and it has opened without any crash. The Blueprint was opened, too.

    (OBS: the class that has the HandleFire function - as mentioned in one of the error lines- stores a reference variable of the same Weapon class, which is the causer of the crash)

  • TBH, I dont remember which one was exactly, but I think it was a simple function, without any inputs, that has a Cast to a Character, and I remember I had disconnected this node from the rest and compiled, before the crash. The BP class that has caused the error was and Actor child.

If you are comfortable with it, please upload the project here, I’ll be happy to take a look and see what may be occurring.
