Access violation - code c0000005 (first/second chance not available)

Hi, I was working just fine until yesterday with my project and today when I started the project the engine crashed after a few seconds (maybe 5-10). The only thing that comes to my mind is that yesterday I press “Build” button accidentally.

On the project I have almost every project from the “learn” tab of the launcher and some projects that I found on the forums.

I have no clue how to resolve this. Please help.

This crash, reported as UE-34370, had been marked fixed because up until now, there had been no instances of it occurring in UE4.15.

In order to address this issue in the most efficient manner, please provide as many of the following as possible:

  • Your dxdiag (Windows Start Button>(search “dxdiag”)>Launch dxdiag>select “Save all information”>attach text file to your post.)
  • “UE4.log” Located: Engine\Saved\Logs\
  • “ProjectName.log” Located: ProjectName\Saved\Logs\

Also, are you currently able to open your project? If not, in your defaultengine.ini change the default map to none. This should allow you to open a blank map in project. Then you may be able to open a saved version of your map if you have one in the Saved folder in Your Project folder.

Lastly, did you upgrade this from UE4.14 to 4.15?
